The Vegan Surf Camp is organised by a French non-profit organisation “Association l’Amour de la Terre“. We’re more than just a surf camp offering burgers and pizzas. We gather together in the woods of les Landes to share the same passion for a healthy lifestyle combining surf and yoga. All our food is freshly made using only vegan, organic produce that nourishes our body. This is the exact type of energising food you need to fully enjoy the experience of a surf and yoga camp. Together with our volunteers, we are an international team which feels more like a family. You will feel this community spirit as soon as you begin your holiday here. It will be a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and make connections that last longer than your stay. Our camp is open to everyone. You don’t need to be vegan to enjoy the benefits of delicious food and time spent playing in the ocean or on a yoga mat.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

We are found in Camping les Cigales in the beach-side town of Moliets-et-Maa. Using the toll road, we are an easy hour drive from Biarritz airport and a two-hours drive from Bordeaux.

The best time to check in is at 4:00pm on Saturdays. If you arrive earlier, no worries! You can drop your bags at the camp and spend a few hours getting to know the beautiful area around before you settle in. We encourage all guests to arrive before 6:00pm so that you can get settled and enjoy the full deliciousness of what the buffet has to offer.
If you arrive later than 6:00pm, you can check in at our bar on camp until 10:30pm. Please let us know in advance if you plan to arrive later than 7:00pm so we can prepare you a plate from the buffet.
We ask that you check out before 10:00am on Saturday. If you are staying in the saltywaves camp you have to check out before 9:00am.
This gives us time to clean the areas and prepare the camp for a new week of guests.
We really appreciate if you could respect these times.

It is also possible to arrive on other days but please note, our weekly activities program runs from Saturday to Saturday. Consequently it is ideal to arrive on saturday to ensure you don’t miss any of the fun. However, if you’re unable to arrive on Saturday, let us know so we can make sure you get the most out of your stay. You can still start the surf lessons on Monday and do a complete week of surfing.
Please note there is no discount for shorter stays.

Rome2Rio is a great online source to find plane, train and bus routes as well as car and ferry. Just type in Moliets-et-Maa and see what options you have!
If you’re planning on flying, we recommend browsing Skyscanner to scope the best range of deals from different airlines. The closest airport is Biarritz but Bordeaux is another good option.
Eurolines offers bus routes throughout most of Europe if you prefer not to fly.

There is a free parking lot just outside of the campsite where you can leave your car for the week (Max height 1.90m).
You can also park your vehicle inside the camp for €30/week for a car and €70/week for a van. You have to add this option when making your reservation.
Don’t forget to book your parking spot, we have a limited amount of them.

There are lockers available at the campsite reception for €25/week. If you would like extra security, you can bring a padlock to secure your tent or just leave your most valuable possessions at home. In general, however, the campsite is extremely safe so you don’t need to worry.

You can wash your clothes at the campsite reception for €5 a load. The dryer costs a further €3.

Yes. There are two small supermarkets in Moliets-et-Maa, just a 5 minutes’ walk from the camp. There is also a bigger supermarket a few minutes’ drive away.

We have a range of soft top surfboards which are ideal for those learning to surf. If you’re a bit more experienced, you can rent a hardboard from our partner surf school, SoonLine.
We provide wetsuits for lessons and when you rent a board.
We have surfing equipment for children and for plus size guests.

In general, the waves in Moliets are suited for all levels of surfing. We are a 10-minute walk to “Moliets Plage” which has many nice beach breaks. Beach breaks are ideal for learning to surf as it is where the waves break over sand, as opposed to rocks or coral. As the ocean is a ruler of self, we can’t promise any specific conditions but summer time in France often brings swells of sweet waves.

There is a 11:00pm curfew for the entire campsite. This ensures a quiet night to any family or guest who wishes to sleep. However, it doesn’t mean no partying! There are many bars in town where you can party until sunrise.

Lessons are suited to first-time and intermediate surfers. Our incredible surf instructors adapt their classes to the level of the guests. If you are more experienced, you can come with your own board or rent one and still enjoy the magic of surfing in Moliets.
BOOKING

As our camp is organised by a non-profit organisation, you can only book as a whole package including accommodation, food and activities. Staying at the camp gives you the full experience of what we have to offer.

It’s always better to have travel insurance backing you up in case you have to cancel your stay.
If you sign up to the surf lessons, it is necessary to have valid travel insurance or liability insurance that covers surfing.You can subscribe to cancellation and travel insurance with our partner Campez Couvert.

Any guests under 18 must have written consent from their parents and be accompanied by a person who is 18 years or above. Bookings cannot be made by anyone under 18 years of age.

We do not provide towels to guests staying in tents so please bring your own beach and bath towel.
If you booked a mobile home you only need to bring a beach towel.

We love to have dogs visit our camp, and dogs love being here!
And there are a lot of amazing places to explore nearby while walking your dog such as forest walks or Moliets beach.
During your stay you will just have to respect the prohibition of domestic animals in our common areas, especially during meal times. This is due to allergies, hygiene and kids.When booking an accomodation make sure to add the “dog option” to your booking. We have a limited number of dogs allowed per week to ensure everyone’s comfort.
Note that there will be an extra fee to be paid for their stay 🙂

You are more than welcome to come by yourself ! Every week, we welcome solo-travellers!
The camp is a pretty easy place to meet people and make new friends. Our welcome games on Saturday evening is a great way to mingle and start to get to know people. We also have a lot of group activities during the week and sharing meals with others always makes connection a bit easier.
If you are between 18-28 years old, want to meet people your age and have a fun week, you can book the Salty Waves Surf Camp. It’s the perfect option for young solo travelers!

It is possible to have a tent for yourself. However, our standard package already includes one compartment out of two in a 9m tent. This gives you your own space even when sharing with another! If you would like a complete tent to yourself, there will be an extra fee.

You are welcome to drive here with your van and enjoy the tent life with us for a week.
However you won’t be able to stay in your van as we don’t have any suitable parking spots.
If you want to park your van inside the camping area make sure to add the parking option (€70/week) to your booking, as we have limited spots.

Our package includes accommodation for 7 nights in one of our tents. Because of this, we do not have any spots for free camping. But this means you can arrive without any worries of pitching your home for the week!

Every week, we welcome guests of all ages and nationalities! Families, couples, friends and solo travellers come here. It’s a great mix of guests and you’re sure to make connections and meet new friends. The camp is an inclusive and safe space for all. All we ask is respect and tolerance!

All accommodation except for “salty waves” include a bed or an air mattress. -
For breakfast and dinner, your meals are beautifully plated from an all vegan and organic buffet.
You can also pack your lunch from our breakfast buffet which includes a range of veggies and spreads for sandwiches.

Unlimited teas, coffee and filtered water available all day

2 free yoga class scheduled during the week.
Otherwise every class is €15. You can buy yoga packages online or at the camp and get a discounted price. -
All weekly activities are included in your package! This means you can enjoy movies, parties, cooking classes and acro-yoga without an extra charge.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try any of the skateboards we have at the camp! We also provide umbrellas and beach games for your beach days.

If you booked a two cabin tent , you will add to add an extra to have this tent privatised.
One cabin tent (or glamping tent) are by nature already private. -
If you wan to attend more lessons than the two that are for free, you will have to buy a yoga package online or at the camp.
